Today is the last day of 2015, which means it's time to set some resolutions for the new year. Usually I find myself setting unrealistic goals for myself which leaves me feeling discouraged, but not this year. This year I truly want to make the most out of 2016 so I've set goals that I know will change my life for the better. I want 2016 to be the year where I am happy, healthy, surrounded by good people and do well. So here are the my New Year's resolutions.

1. Workout more.
I've never been a gym person, but I want to start going to the gym more in 2016. Obviously I want to do as much yoga as possible, but also balance it out with some cardio. Staying in shape is important to a happy and healthy year.

2. Take no bullshit.
I've always been kind of a push over, but this year I am done tolerating bullshit. I am going to do what is best for myself and learn how to say no. Here's to a bullshit free 2016.

3. Sleep more.
My sleep schedule in 2015 was pathetic and I am so tired. Sleeping does wonders for your health and as a college student a little extra sleep is going to go a long way.

4. Be Positive.
Positivity is key to a happy life. If you think good thoughts they will radiate from you and spread positivity to others as well. It's so easy to get pulled down and caught up by the negatives in your life, but there is so much to look forward to. There are always two sides to every story and two perspectives to every situation. I want to focus on looking on the bright side in 2016 and seeing the glass as half full.

5. Eat better.
Healthy eating is a huge goal of mine in the new year. I don't really believe in "diets" because I find them super restricting, but definitely eating better and cutting back on the junk. Eating healthy will make me more energized and just feel better overall in the new year.

6. Read more.
This one is really important to me. As a kid I used to read all the time and as I've gotten older the number of books I read has slowly gone down. I have so many books that I've purchased that sit on my shelf unread. Reading opens your mind and strengthens your vocabulary, two things that are very necessary in 2016.

7. Eliminate toxic people.
Say goodbye to people who only bring you down. Fake friends have no spot in the new year. They may have ruined your 2015, but that does not mean they have to ruin your 2016. Eliminate people who make you feel crappy because they serve you no purpose. New year, new friends.

8. Spend time with quality people.
Since you are eliminating toxic people you will have more time to spend with the ones that matter. Spend time with people who make you glad you're alive. Make time for those who are most important to you because you never know what's going to happen in life. Life is so short, spend it with people you love.

9. Write everything down.
Whether it's blogging or journaling, write everything worth remembering down. Start a book, pick up poetry, whatever it is that works, do it. Writing has always been a huge part of my life and I love documenting memories. At the end of the year it will be fun to look back and see everything that's happened in 2016.

10. Be happy.
Not "fine", not "okay", not "alright", but genuinely happy. Why waste another 365 days being unhappy? Make 2016 your year to be selfish. Do whatever the hell it takes to make you happy and don't let anybody or anything get in the way. Everyone deserves to be happy and you can have it right now. Why wait? Laugh more, love more, smile more, fall in love with yourself and your life. In 2016 I want to be happy.

Make 2016 your bitch. Set goals and go out there and get them. Make changes for the better and become the person you've always wanted to be, the time is now. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy New Year! Also thank you to everyone who reads this, you don't know how much it means to me!! Happy New Year, lovely people! I hope it brings you wonderful things!

Love Always,
Olivia Jane
