This 4th of July I got to lay on the beach, hangout with some good friends, work at a place I love, watch some fireworks and absorb all the joy this country has brought me. I feel like I so often take for granted all the freedoms I am able to enjoy every day because of how far America has come. Take a moment and realize how fortunate we are, no matter how bad things get, we still have it better than a lot of other countries out there. I was never really interested in history, however I've always loved the 4th of July, for the fireworks, and because I feel like it's a holiday where everyone is happy to be around each other and happy to be alive. The 4th brings so many people together, family cookouts, vacations, gathering to watch the fireworks, and sometimes it is just nice to be around other people. At the end of the night at work the piano played God Bless America, and everyone in the restaurant starting singing it together, and it was really a perfect moment. Customers, employees, young and old, all joined together in a song to show our love for America and our patriotism. To me nothing can beat the buzz in the air on the 4th July.
I'm a free spirit, and I cannot imagine living in a country where you can't truly be free. America has made some amazing steps in history recently, and the more time that passes the more this country improves. We have so many brave men and women who have fought for our country and sacrificed their own lives for our freedom. We have had fearless leaders who have taken America to the next level and worked to improve our quality of life. There is so much potential for greatness every day here and it truly astounds me. I go by life day to day and sometimes forget to cherish how great I have it in this country. I get to live in a gorgeous place and spend time hanging out with amazing people, and I couldn't be happier.
How was your 4th of July weekend?
