Little me learning how to ride my bike :) and where my life philosophy began!
Hello! And welcome to my blog!! I hope to bring a sense of humor, heartfelt thoughts and advice, as well as entertainment to your days! I am about to begin a new chapter in my life, as I will (finally) be graduating high school in a little over a week, yay! This being said, I decided what better way to start this new journey than to blog!

My first post today is actually inspired by my journalism final today. My teacher had us read an article (I'll put the link at the bottom!), and write about our pace in life. I got inspired, I thought, what better way for readers to get to know me?! This is one of the most meaningful assignments I've ever written, and it is truly eye opening. So, here goes my first blog post!

When going through the motions day to day, I never really stop to notice the pace in which I’m living my life. Upon reflecting, I realize I live a very fast paced lifestyle, because my philosophy is that it is best to always keep moving. When I was learning to ride a bike my cousin always told me I could not fall if I just kept moving, so that is the mantra I've come to use in my daily life. If you keep moving amidst all of life’s tragedies and hardships, then nothing can pull you down.

I do not do well with mundane tasks and idle time, I like having my day filled with things to do and places to see. I would describe my pace as a sort of organized chaos, and I know this is contradictory so I’ll explain. My life is hectic and crazy, always running from school to practice, to work and then a party, and to an outsider it may appear as though I am a total mess, however somehow this fast paced lifestyle works for me. For this reason I've discovered I am a city girl at heart, which is why I will be going to college near New York City and intend on living there after college. The bustle of the city runs through my veins and reflects how I go about my life.

Recently, however I have discovered the beauty of slowing down and taking the time to enjoy the present moment. I am often so caught up taking the perfect instagram picture, or composing the funniest tweet, that I neglect the present moment. It’s so easy to go through your life without really living it, and what fun would that be?! Slowing down is not easy, especially for someone as high energy as me, but I have found ways to enjoy the little things.

Through practicing yoga I have started to realize that living a fast paced life is okay, as long as you give yourself time to slow down every once and a while. Though I have no where near mastered it, I am developing a happy medium between taking time to be present, and living the high speed life I enjoy. While I love my constant on the go lifestyle, I realized I was missing a key aspect in my pursuit of happiness, balance. In my mind, balance is the key to happiness and success.

So even though the thought of being stationary and slowing down sometimes seems unappealing, I have recognized that it is crucial to my well being, and am lucky enough to be able to have the best of both worlds. Whenever my organized chaos gets to be too much, I surrender to the peace of my yoga mat. And if I ever doubt the way I am living my life, I remember that it is just like learning to ride a bike, all you have to do is keep on moving.

I challenge you all to look within and see what your own pace is! I hope you get as much out of it as I did! Thank you for reading my very first blog post, and hope you read the many more to come!
